"I really like to poke people’s brains. From business, to family and friends, and even love [especially love], the core foundation of all things boil down psychology, and the workings of the brain. I think the human mind is a bizarre and peculiar place.

As fragile as it may be, it can become an unbelievably powerful force. It creates and imposes meaning from conjured ideas, and interestingly, skews our view of the world, as well as ourselves in a remarkably distorted, yet sentimental way.

This is what inspires the subject matter of my stu# most of the time. I’ve always been fascinated by how the world seems to be viewed so drastically di#erently by everyone compared to myself, and I can’t help but wonder and imagine: what could they see? How different is their reality from mine?"

Bruno Chiarlone Debenedetti - Five Images

Bruno Chiarlone Debenedetti è nato nel 1947 a Cairo Montenotte (SV).
Dal 1980 è attivo nel campo della poesia verbo-visiva e della mail art internazionale.
Appena un anno dopo, nel 1981, il noto artista bresciano GAC, lo nomina maestro di cerimonia per il suo 100° anniversario 1914-2014.
Nel 1990 scrive il Manifesto Eco-arte che presenta a Savona (Filmstudio).
Nella sua nativa Liguria, a Rocchetta Cairo, con amici artisti, ha realizzato grandi pitture murali.

Ha pubblicato in Italia, alcuni romanzi storici e vari libri su Cavellini oltre a numerosi suoi libri d’artista, ora conservati in biblioteche italiane ed estere. Collabora alla rivista di mail art Circulaire 132 pubblicata in Canada
Scrive vari articoli che compaiono saltuariamente on-line su Savonanews, Cagliari Art Magazine, Trucioli blog, Mediterranews, IVG, Culture Creative.
Si dedica al collage, al libro d’artista e alla fotografia di paesaggio ed alla promozione di progetti land-art e la collocazione di cartellini dipinti nel territorio naturale.

Piotr Szreniawski - Eight Asemic Pieces

Piotr Szreniawski is Extraordinary Professor at Maria Curie-Sklodowska University in Lublin, Poland. Published a few hundred brochures of poetry, comics and poemics. He is the guy who said that poemics can be treated as a separate field of art between poetry and comics (and combining elements of both).

Rosaire Appel - Projections

"from here to there" - Not confined to a single surface these drawings/ diagrams simulate projections - it is not unlike the way words are projected from writing into speech . 

Mark Blickley - Four Text-Visual Combos

Mark Blickley and Amy Bassin collaborate on text based art collaborations and videos. Their text based art collaboration, Dream Streams, was featured  as an art installation at the 5th Annual NYC Poetry Festival held at Governors Island. They have published numerous excerpts from this series, including in Columbia Journal of Literature and Art. Our video, Speaking In Bootongue, was recently selected for the London Experimental Film Festival.

Volodymyr Bilyk - Oak Trapeze

Volodymyr Bilyk is a poet from Ukraine who writes in English. So he's basically from another dimension or Parts Unknown.

Long story short: he follows Ezra Pound's "Make It New" and considers Pink Fairies song "Do It" to be a quite adequate description of his artistic intentions.  

His latest book "Roadrage" was published by Zimzalla in 2018. His other works include "To When Tea Ties Hence to Wank It Too" / "Eminent Means of Basil Dado Hem-Welt" (2015), "Heartbeat, Footclick, Machine Gun Vocalizes" (2016), "Eellogofusciohipoppokunurious" (2017) and "The Songs of The Great Tits" (2018).

John M. Bennett - Seven Pieces

John M. Bennett has published, exhibited and performed his word art worldwide in thousands of publications and venues. He was editor and publisher of LOST AND FOUND TIMES (1975-2005), and is Curator of the Avant Writing Collection at The Ohio State University Libraries. Richard Kostelanetz has called him “the seminal American poet of my generation”. His work, publications, and papers are collected in several major institutions, including Washington University (St. Louis), SUNY Buffalo, The Ohio State University, The Museum of Modern Art, and other major libraries. His PhD (UCLA 1970) is in Latin American Literature.

Arnold McBay - Two Code Gifs

Arnold McBay is a mixed-media visual artist and a sessional art instructor at Brock University. Exhibiting since 1988 he has been the recipient of numerous awards and grants and has work in private and public collections across North America. Recent projects include: a collaborative project with Gregory Betts (Signs of our Discontent: the textures of our solitude) mounted at the In the Soil Festival in St. Catharines and recent exhibitions, a chapbook with Gregory Betts featuring the Signs of our Discontent project (published by Above/Ground Press, Ottawa) as well as exhibits at the John B. Joseph S. Makkos - 603W typewriter agnostics

J.S. Makkos is a writer, printmaker, and a self-described media archaeologist, having salvaged and restored historic printing equipment from at least a dozen print shops to date. Using these resources he actively runs CODEX in New Orleans, a design studio and print shop which focuses on artful production and independent publishing for local businesses, writers, and artists alike. In another capacity he curates a one-of-a-kind archive of some 30,000 historic New Orleans newspapers dating from the late 19th to the early 20th century, Nola DNA. In 2016 he toured Europe for the 100th anniversary of Dada, visiting Dadaist collections, attending exhibitions on Dadaism, worked in print various print shops, and gave a performance at the Cabaret Voltaire in Zurich. He has instructed courses in literature, writing and publishing for Tulane, Loyola, and Delgado.

Andrew Topel became involved with visual poetry around 2002.  while studying fine arts in college, he began taking creative writing courses as well and greatly enjoyed the experience. Coming to love both writing and art, he began to wed the two related practices to create visual poetry.  he currently resides in florida and is editing the forthcoming anthology RENEGADE.
