Piotr Szreniawski - Seven Poemics
Piotr Szreniawski is Extraordinary Professor at Maria Curie-Sklodowska University in Lublin, Poland. Published a few hundred brochures of poetry, comics and poemics. He is the guy who said that poemics can be treated as a separate field of art between poetry and comics (and combining elements of both).
About poemics:
For ages people have been creating works that can be seen as poemics - works that have elements of poetry and comics in them. In 1991 Álvaro de Sá has published his book "Poemics", which included works that combined elements of comics and visual poetry. Piotr Szreniawski said that poemics is a separate art, and should be treated as such. So there were some anthologies of poemics, exhibitions and even some theoretical works, mainly in Polish language. Many definitions of poemics exist, some of them include terms "poetry" and "comics", for example "the art between poetry and comics", "the art at the border of poetry and comics" or "the art blending poetry with comics". But if we look at poemics without thinking about poetry or comics, this way we can have definitions such as "Poemics is the art of arranging graphic characters". We can also intuitively get what poemics are, by reading them and creating new ones. Piotr Szreniawski was the President of the European Poemics Center. He also has made some interviews about poemics with himself - the booklet was distributed in libraries in Poland.
