Margie Schnibbe - Two Pieces



Margie Schnibbe is an artist and filmmaker who is known for creating intuitive works that blur the boundaries between art and everyday life.
Schnibbe’s videos, drawings, paintings, performances, sculptures and audio projects have appeared in numerous venues including Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art (Rotterdam), Arsenal Institute for Film/Video Art and Kino Moviemento (Berlin), Kunsthalle Wien (Vienna), Arte TV (Germany/France), Anthology Film Archives, Center for Book Arts, The James Gallery at CUNY Graduate Center, Monkeytown (New York), Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (San Francisco), and in Los Angeles at LACE, Film Forum, Echo Park Film Center, Charlie James Gallery, Night Gallery, Nicodim Gallery, MOCA, The Hammer Museum, The Getty Museum, Francois Ghebaly Gallery, The Box and David Kordansky Gallery.
Margie Schnibbe was born in Yonkers, New York and studied ceramics at Hunter College of the City University of New York prior to receiving a BFA in Sculpture from Kansas City Art Institute in 1991 and an MFA in Film/Video from CalArts in 1998. Schnibbe lives and works in Los Angeles and hosts a monthly program on KCHUNG Radio. Schnibbe received a Creative Capital Emerging Fields grant with KCHUNG Radio in 2016.
